Gordon Gee Obituary

Gordon E. Gee was born to Raymond (Sam) and Clara (Terrill) Gee in Albion, Pennsylvania on March 27, 1930.  He grew up in Monroe Center, Ohio where he attended school in a one room schoolhouse and was plowing fields with a horse drawn plow at the tender age of five.

Gordon enlisted in the US Air Force and was stationed in England,  where he met and married his beloved wife of seventy years, Yvonne (Smith) Gee, on January 2, 1954, at the Royal Marine Chapel in Deal, England.

Following his honorable discharge as a Staff Sargent and Senior Aircraft Mechanic, Gordon brought his bride to Conneaut, Ohio.

A devoted and loving family man, Gordon and Yvonne were blessed with two daughters Deb and Gail.  The family moved to Monroe Township where they enjoyed raising, training and showing Quarter Horses.

Gordon was a Senior Industrial Engineer at the General Electric Conneaut Base Plant from where he retired after working 41 years.

During the early years of his  long, much anticipated and well-deserved retirement, Gordon and Yvonne wintered in Brooksville Florida. There they enjoyed the company of many friends including Russ Peck, a lifelong best friend who shared his love of horses.

In later years, Gordon and Yvonne move to Clarksville, Maryland, where he enjoyed owning, racing and betting on thoroughbred race horses with his beloved son-in-law, Vince Campanella.

Gordon is survived by his wife, Yvonne, two daughters, Deborah Gee Woo and Gail Gee, son-in-law Marino Woo, granddaughter Jacqueline Woo, step-grandson  Tony Campanella, sister-in-law Jacqueline Luetkemeyer and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Ruth Leffel and his son-in-law, Vince Campanella.

Gordon and his family deeply appreciated the many family, friends and neighbors who stayed in touch with him and supported him throughout his long, productive happy life.
