Harold K. Chernoff passed peacefully in his sleep. Harold was born on February 25, 1961, in Chicago, Illinois to Edward Chernoff and Laura Lee (Schuman) Chernoff. He grew up in Kansas City, Missouri, and attended the University of Missouri at Rolla and received a Bachelor’s degree in Nuclear Engineering. Throughout his career, he worked at power plants in Kansas, Oregon and South Carolina. In his later years, he served at the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission. Harold has been a supporter of his college fraternity, Kappa Alpha. He was a firm believer in education. He was instrumental in establishing the Beta Alpha Educational Foundation, supporting the education of students attending the Misssouri University of Science and Technology. He was also instrumental in establishing the Magnolia and Rose Scholarships, supporting qualified female students attending Missouri S&T.
Harold is survived by his wife, Margaret (Megehee) Chernoff; son, Aleks Chernoff, of Spring, Texas; father-in-law Warren Megehee of Carriere, Mississippi; and brother and sister in law, Glenn and Heather Megehee of Albuquerque, New Mexico.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Donaldson Funeral Home of Clarksville on Sunday, November 25 from 2:00 to 4:30pm. In addition to flowers, the family asks that memorials be sent to the Beta Alpha Educational Foundation @ https://baefoundation.baedu.org/
